RAJPATHE RINGIYAE (1955)

'Rajpathe Ringiyae' is Dr.Birendra Kumar Bhattacharyya's first novel, where he tries to analyse what we common Indian people have achieved after Independence. In the pre Independent India under the British rule, the rich industrialists exploited the poor common people and the same methods being followed in the post Independent India even though we have our own elected government. The author is trying to voice the feelings of the people through Mohan, the main character of this novel. The Gandhian and socialist ideas promised before independence seemed to have vanished. On the historical day of 15th August 1947, Mohan refuses to enjoy any of the fun and festivities of the public functions. In this novel, he tries to voice all the feelings and sentiments of the common people on that particular day.
